This page lists the activities that cannot use StixFlow, those that require Nexora’s prior written approval, and the practices that are prohibited whatever the activity. It forms part of the Terms of Service and of the Merchant Agreement (Article 6).

The lists are not exhaustive. Payment service providers, card networks and banks apply their own rules, which may be stricter. If they cannot support an activity, StixFlow cannot either. Onboarding is decided case by case, and Nexora may refuse or end a relationship on the basis of risk.

1. Prohibited activities

The following cannot be offered through StixFlow, in any country:

Illegal products and services

  • Any product or service that is illegal in the country of the merchant or of the buyer;
  • Narcotics, controlled substances, and equipment designed for producing or using them;
  • Prescription-only medicines sold without the required authorisation;
  • Stolen goods, and goods whose origin cannot be shown;
  • Human trafficking, exploitation, and any content involving minors in a sexual context.

Counterfeiting and infringement

  • Counterfeit goods and unauthorised replicas;
  • Sale or distribution of content, software or streams without the right holder’s authorisation;
  • Devices or services designed to circumvent technical protection measures.

Weapons and dangerous goods

  • Firearms, ammunition, their essential components and plans for manufacturing them;
  • Explosives, and weapons prohibited by law or by payment partners;
  • Hazardous materials that require an authorisation the merchant does not hold.

Unlicensed financial activities

  • Money transmission, currency exchange, payment or banking services provided without the required licence;
  • Sale or exchange of crypto-assets used as a way of cashing out, and unregistered crypto-asset services;
  • Investment schemes promising returns, pyramid and Ponzi schemes, and unregulated trading or binary options;
  • Cash advances, and purchases of cash equivalents made to obtain funds.

Gambling

  • Games of chance, betting, lotteries and casinos operated without a licence valid in each country of sale.

Deception and harm to consumers

  • Get-rich-quick offers and coaching or training sold on promises of income;
  • Products making unproven health claims, and miracle cures;
  • Fake reviews, fake followers, fake engagement and falsified documents;
  • Technical support scams, phishing, malware and spyware;
  • Any offer whose pricing, renewal or cancellation terms are hidden from the buyer.

Content

  • Adult content and services prohibited by payment partners;
  • Content that incites hatred, violence or discrimination, or that promotes terrorism.

Sanctions

  • Any activity involving a person, entity, country or territory subject to sanctions of the European Union, France, the United Nations, the United Kingdom or the United States.

2. Restricted activities

The following may be accepted only with Nexora’s prior written approval, after a specialised review and, where relevant, subject to specific conditions such as a reserve, a longer settlement period or volume caps:

  • Subscriptions with a free or reduced-price trial, and continuity or negative-option offers;
  • Food supplements, cosmetics and wellness products;
  • CBD and hemp products, where lawful;
  • Tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaping products, and alcohol;
  • Licensed gambling, betting and fantasy sports;
  • Regulated financial services, licensed crypto-asset services and trading education;
  • Travel, ticketing, events and any sale with delivery long after payment;
  • Dating and adult-oriented services permitted by payment partners;
  • Marketplaces and platforms that collect payments for other sellers;
  • Crowdfunding, donations and non-profit fundraising;
  • Telemarketing, lead generation and high-ticket coaching;
  • Dropshipping with long delivery times;
  • Pharmacies and telemedicine;
  • Gaming credits, digital wallets and stored-value products.

Approval is given for a specific activity, product range and website. It does not extend to a new activity, product or website, which must be declared and approved beforehand.

3. Prohibited practices

Whatever the activity, the following are prohibited:

  • processing transactions on behalf of a third party, or for a business other than the one declared;
  • spreading volume across several accounts, or opening several accounts without Nexora’s consent;
  • fictitious transactions, and transactions on the merchant’s own payment methods;
  • hidden subscriptions and renewals without the buyer’s documented consent;
  • splitting a payment to get around a control or a limit;
  • discouraging a buyer from exercising their rights, or surcharging for a payment method where the law forbids it;
  • a website, product description or advertising that does not match the activity declared during verification;
  • any attempt to bypass the platform’s fraud, verification or security controls.

4. Consequences

A breach of this page is a serious breach. Nexora may, without notice, block a transaction, suspend the account, deactivate production keys, request that payouts be suspended, set up or increase a reserve and terminate the Merchant Agreement, as its Articles 6, 9 and 18 provide. The payment service provider and the card networks may also take their own measures, including listing the merchant in terminated-merchant files.

5. Ask before you apply

If you are not sure whether your activity is accepted, write to [email protected] before starting verification. Describe the actual offer, the website, the countries of sale and how the product is delivered. An accurate description avoids a refusal later.

To report a merchant that appears to breach this page, write to [email protected].
